  • You cant directly Render 3D Scenes → Need to convert it into a “Scene Description”
    • With traditional Mantra, VRay, Arnold etc this could be a very slow Process
      • Conversion could be multiple GB per Frame → Slow

       

    • USD can Render directly → Fast
      • .usd file is already a scene description itself → no conversion needed

       


  • Bring Assets into USD
    • assetreference” → Link to another USD File and bring in whatever the Contents are
      • best way to load in an asset
      • visible in scene graph

         

      • can view the usd code for the asset (”Inspect Active Layer”)

         

         


        • We are just Referencing the usd Asset from another Scene
          • If Someone now makes Changes to the bomber.usd Asset it would be automatically also changed in our Scene
